GUEST LECTURES

During the period some esteemed resource persons visited the campus. The Director, ABIMS welcomed and felicitated these guests on suitable ocassions.  Dr. Aqeel Ahmad, SEBI Panelist,  delivered a lecture on Financial Products and Investment Benefits on 28.02.2017. He motivated the students to start investing at an early stage of their life. Dr. Gyandendra Mishra, President, Udaan Society, Aligarh, delivered a guest lecture on 'Role and Scope for Management Graduates in Social Sector' on 08.04.2017. An award winning documentary relating issues and challenges faced by social activists was also shown. Mr. Rizwanur Rahman, Formerly GM PFC & presently working as a top official in Min. of Power, GOI, New Delhi, delivered a talk on Project Management on 15.04.2017. He elaborated the various facets of Project Management; its theoretical foundations and practical aspects.The students took keen interest in all these guest lectures and ensured their enthusiastic participation. 

 

INDUSTRIAL VISIT

The first year students made an industrial visit to Dawar India Limited, a 100% export oriented company having clients in UK, US, Australia and other countries. It has all necessary certifications like OHSAS 18001, SA, 8000, ISO 9001 & 14001. After the students group led by faculty members reached there, Mr. Rajeev Mishra, Head-HR, Dawar Footwear Industries gave the visitors an introductory address followed by Q&A session.  Thereafter, Mr. Mishra and his team smoothly organized the visit of students to different sections and areas of factory like leather store, automated cutting sections, threading and stitching areas, thermo controls sections, adhesives and assembly lines, Quality control section, and finally packaging sections. Towards the end of visit a nice refreshment was offered to all the visitors. The students also visited and witnessed the beauty of the Taj Mahal in Agra. 

 

TOUR TO RAJASTHAN

The MBA IV-Semester students toured Jaipur and Ranthambore National Park, Rajasthan during March 4-7, 2017. The students and faculty coordinators visited various places viz. Amer Fort, City Palace, Jal-Mahal, Hawa-Mahal, Bapu-Market, Chokhi Dhani etc at Jaipur. Students participated in various activities at Chokhi Dhani and enjoyed the touch of exquisite Rajasthani hospitality and food along with memorable folk dances, Puppet Show, games etc.Ranthambore National Park, Sawai Madhopur, was also visited and the students had a wonderful experience of jungle safari. At Ranthambore, students also enjoyed Bone Fire along with other games at the hotel. Overall the trip was amazing and a memorable experience for all.

 

CAREER AWARENESS & COMMUNITY SERVICES 

The ABIMS Faculty teams conducted Career Awareness cum Counselling sessions with graduation final year students of courses like BBA, BA, BCom, BSc in various colleges of Aligarh and nearby areas. The sessions were conducted primarily through a powerpoint presentation highlighting the importance of MBA as a strategic career choice for fresh graduates followed by intensive question and answer sessions between our team members and students. The faculty team visited and delivered interactive presentations at Aligarh College of Engineering and Management, Aligarh, Amrita PG College, Bulandshahr, and Chaudhry Charan Singh Degree College, Iglas. 

 

FAREWELL PARTY "KHWABEEDA"

On April 22, 2017, MBA I year students bid adieu to their senior batch students. The event was titled as 'Khwabeeda'. Dr. Ahmad Mujtaba Siddiqui, Joint Secretary, Al-Barkaat Education Society, Dr. Faheem Usman Siddiqui, Coordinator, Al-Barkaat Education Institutions, and Mr. Maaz Hussain, Director, Al-Barkaat Syed Hamid Community College, along with Dr. Waseem Ahmad, Director, ABIMS, Faculty members & staff graced the occasion. The Director, ABIMS in his welcome address lauded the organizing team for beautiful arrangements made for their seniors. He also urged the students to appreciate the importance of personal discipline for their professional success. Dr. FU Siddiqui emphasized that students are the most vital constituent of an educational institution, the satisfaction level of students determines the level of success of it. He also shared his experiences on art of criticism. Dr. Ahmad Mujtaba Siddiqui appreciated the students for simple and sober decoration work and urged them to follow their conscience as it is the only way leading us to right path. He emphasized the importance of upbringing and socialization in transforming a human being. Role of character building and socialization is more crucial than the role of education. He expressed his desire for Al-Barkaat alumna/alumnus/students to be recognized for their mannerism. He laid further emphasis upon human values and ethics. Mohammad Yousuf Javed, Hera Ayub, Azharduddin, Wardah Tamhid, entertained the gathering with their beautiful solo, group and fusion songs, ghazals and classical music.  As a result of three-rounds of selection process, finally Yousuf Javed and Hera Ayub emerged Mr. Fresher and Ms Fresher respectively. Mohammad Faiyaz Khan and Naureen Khan bagged Mr. Evening and Ms. Evening titles respectively. 

 

OATH & PLANTATION CEREMONY

On 27th July, 2017; the 2nd Death Anniversary of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, former President & Missile Man of India.Ten Point Oath for the Youth

1. I will pursue my education or the work with dedication and I will excel in it.

2. From now onwards, I will teach at least 10 persons to read and write those who cannot read and write.

3. I will plant at least 10 saplings and shall ensure their growth through constant care.

4. I will visit rural and urban areas and permanently wean away at least 5 persons from addiction and gambling.

5. I will constantly endeavor to remove the pain of my suffering brethren.

6. I will not support any religious, caste or language differentiation.

7. I will be honest and endeavour to make a corruption free society. 

8. I will work for becoming an enlightened citizen and make my family righteous.

9. I will always be a friend of the mentally and physically challenged and will work hard to make them feel normal, like the rest of us.

10. I will proudly celebrate the success of my country and my people.

 

ACADEMIC LEADERSHIP TRAINING PROGRAMME

A 6-Day (August 08-14, 2017) Training Programme on “Academic Leadership” was conducted by the Centre for Academic Leadership and Education Management (CALEM), AMU (under the Scheme of PMMMNMTT, HRD Ministry, GOI). The Training programme was organized by Al-Barkaat Educational Society in Convention Hall, ABIMS. The participants represented various government and self-financed Colleges/Institutions/ Universities from Aligarh and neighboring areas including faculty members of ABIMS, ABIE and ABCGS. The Programme closed with a Valedictory Session where Prof. M. Muzammil, the former Vice Chancellor of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University, Agra was the Chief Guest. During the training programme the participants got enough opportunities to evaluate, identify & chalk out their developmental pathways to emerge more effective and efficient leaders in personal, family, academic/professional & social spheres. 

 

PARK BENEATH FLYOVER

Al-Barkaat Educational Society, in its quest to endlessly contribute towards the cause of environmental protection, has transformed the barren land beneath the flyover in front of its campus into a flourishing park. On the occasion Mr. Shyam Bahadur Singh, ADM City; Mr. Santosh Kumar Sharma, Municipal Commissioner; Mr. Azeem-ul-Haque, SP (Transport); Mr. Naveen Sing Patel, Editorial Head, Danik Jagran and Dr. Ahmad Mujtaba Siddiqui, Joint Secratary, Al-Barkaat Educational Society Jointly dedicated the park to the nation. Dr. Ahmad Mujtaba Siddiqui said, 'Park gives fresh air and fresh air enriches human life-this motto inspired our team and led us develop this park on barren land under the flyover in an attempt to help making Aligarh 'more green & clean'. Dr. F.U. Siddiqui, Coordinator, Al-Barkaat Education Institutions; Dr. Waseem Ahmad, Director, Al-Barkaat Institute of Management Studies and Mr. Maaz Hussain, Director, Al-Barkaat Syed Hamid Community College felicitated the guests by presenting bouquets, shawls and mementos. 

 

FRESHER'S PARTY (BAZM-E-TARAB)

The Students of MBA Final year arranged and organized a grand Fresher's party for MBA First year students in the name and title of “Bazm-e-Tarab” on October 07, 2017.   Saima Khan, Abu Sufiyan, Mariyam Arshad, and Mohammad Tabish Javed bagged Ms. Fresher, Mr. Fresher, Ms. Evening and Mr. Evening titles respectively. Seniors as well as juniors displayed and demonstrated their talents through various cultural activities like solo and group songs, mimicry, mono-acting, skit which were highly appreciated by the audience. The programme was conducted by students namely; Majid Khan, Faisal Khan, Mohammad Faizan, Mohammad Azharuddin, Shahrukh Khan, Nisar Zafar Sofi, Afreen Khan, Rushda Malik, Wardah Tamhid, Mariyam and Tarannum Arif. Towards the end of the evening, Anas Shakil thanked the guests and students for their gracious attendance. The event ended with the Tarana-e-Barkaat and the National Anthem. During the event Dr. Waseem Ahmad, Director, ABIMS, Special Guest Mr. Maaz Hussain, Director, Al-Barkaat Syed Hamid Community College (ABSHCC), Faculty and staff members were present.

 

GUEST LECTURES

Mr. T.S. Rajput, Deputy General Manager, National Small Industries Corporation, Aligarh delivered a lecture on 'Entrepreneurs & Entrepreneurship Development' on October 16, 2017 in Convention Hall, ABIMS. The Director, ABIMS felicitated the guest speaker. The lecture was enthusiastically attended by the students and faculty members.

 

Prof. M. Zafar Mahfooz Nomani, Faculty of Law, A.M.U., Aligarh delivered a lecture on 'My Vision-Corruption Free India' on October 31, 2017 as a part of observance of Vigilance Awareness Week. The Director, ABIMS felicitated the guest speaker. All faculty members and students attended the lecture.

 

TEACHERS' DAY CELEBRATION

The Al-Barkaat Educational Society felicitated its faculty members from various sister institutions namely; Al-Barkaat Institute of Management Studies (ABIMS), Al-Barkaat Institute of Education (ABIE), Al-Barkaat College of Graduate Studies (ABCGS), Al-Barkaat Syed Hamid Community College (ABSHCC), Al-Barkaat Institute of Islamic Research & Training (ABIRTI) and Al-Barkaat Public School (ABPS). On the occasion Dr. Ahmad Mujtaba Siddiqui Joint Secretary, ABES and Dr. F.U. Siddiqui, Coordinator, ABEIs blessed the teaching fraternity with their kind and encouraging words. Dr. Ahmad Mujtaba Siddiqui emphasized the need of value education for the youth stressing that abundance of knowledge might not be as useful if the beholders of that lack sound characters built upon solid foundation of human values and ethics. 

 

VIGILANCE AWARENESS WEEK


Al-Barkaat Institute of Management Studies (ABIMS) observed 'Vigilance Awareness Week' as directed by the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) & All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) during October 30-Novemebr 3, 2017 with vigor and dedication. During the Week, Quiz, Debate, Essay Writing and, Poster Making  competitions were organized on the theme and related sub-themes. Apart from Al-Barkaat Institute of Management Studies (ABIMS) students from Al-Barkaat Institute of Education (ABIE) and Al-Barkaat College of Graduate Studies (ABCGS) also participated with great zeal and enthusiasm in various competitive events held during the week. On the occasion, Dr. F.U. Siddiqui, Coordinator, ABEIs made the audience aware about the nature, types and causes of corruption in India and how corruption has widely spread across. He asked the audience to probe as to how it can be eradicated from the society. Dr. Waseem Ahmad, Director, ABIMS welcomed the guest and elaborated the importance of Vigilance Awareness Week. He also led the faculty and students take the integrity pledge. Saima Khan and Shafaque Khan (ABIMS) got winner and runner-up awards respectively in English debate. Sakshi Bhardwaj (ABIE) and Arisha Khan (ABCGS) got winner and runner –up awards respectively in Hindi debate. Sana Rehman (ABIE) and Saima Khan (ABIMS) got winner and runner-up awards respectively in English essay writing event. Tulika Gaur and Manju (ABIE) got winner and runner-up awards respectively in Hindi essay writing event. Iram Zubair (ABIE) and Afreen Khan (ABIMS) got winner and runner-up awards respectively in poster making event. Team of Syed Mohammad Usaid & Syed Ahmad Kamal (ABIMS) got winner's award in Quiz competition. Teams of Rajul Upreti & Lovendra Singh (ABIMS) and Sana Rehman & Sadia Bano (ABIE) jointly got runner-up's award in Quiz completion. The Guest congratulated all the award winners and participants and presented them with the certificates. On the occasion all the students, faculty and staff members were present.
